Gettysburg
Pennsylvania's historic barns are fast disappearing
Our
1820's bank barn is typical of the Gettysburg region.
When the farm was a fully operating family farm, the
lower level was used to house dairy cows and sheep.
The
upper level has a hay loft and granary. Right above the tulips,
you can see the door on the second floor. This door would
open so that the grain could be thrown down to the wagons
waiting below.
