Pennsylvania Bank Barn
This historic barn was designed to be the heart of the
original farm. The two-story building has housing for the farm
animals on the lower level. An earthen bank ramp allows wagons to
bring the harvest to the second floor. The threshing floor is in the
middle of the barn. Tall ladders allow the hay to be stacked almost
to the roof in the two side sections. A granary has a floating door
so that the farmer could throw bags of grain down into the waiting
wagons.
Today, the barn is used for hay for the horse, pony,
and donkey in the winter. In the summer, the upper floor is given a
good cleaning and the barn is used for wedding receptions and barn
dances.
