We meet Colonel Chamberlain and his staff on Little Round Top. After an introductory talk, the Colonel forms the participants into a military line and marches them to the 20th Maine marker where Chamberlain and his men fought on July 2, 1863. This will take place from 1-3 PM. At 6:30 PM we will gather at the Dobbin House Restaurant on Steinwehr Avenue in Gettysburg for dinner with the Chamberlains and other Civil War military personnel. Colonel Chamberlain's presentation following dinner is based on recently found suitcase full of love letters between Chamberlain's granddaughter and her ill fated lover who was unfortunately married.
The tour includes some walking, so we advise wearing comfortable shoes. You will also occasionally walk on uneven terrain.
Please note: In case of low attendance or circumstances beyond our control, the Inns of the Gettysburg Area reserves the right to change or alter the program as needed.
