A Gettysburg Fourth
Gettysburg goes all out for Independence Day, and in 2026, the celebration gets even bigger as the community marks America’s 250th birthday with a full day of energy, music, and hometown pride at Gettysburg Rec Park.
The day starts bright and early at 8 a.m. with the Adams County Farmers Market, where fresh local flavors and a lively crowd set the tone for what’s ahead. As the afternoon rolls in, the park fills with food vendors, family activities, and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the summer vibe.
Music takes center stage as the day builds. The Willy’s kick things off in the afternoon, followed by Great Train Robbery, bringing a fun, crowd-pleasing lineup that keeps the energy high. As evening approaches, the spotlight shifts to a truly unforgettable moment—the 90-member U.S. Army Field Band takes the stage, delivering a powerful performance that captures the spirit of the day.
As the final notes carry into the night, the sky comes alive with an extended fireworks display sponsored by Destination Gettysburg, creating a show that’s as meaningful as it is spectacular. With chairs set up, families gathered, and the community all around, it’s the kind of moment that defines summer in Gettysburg.
With just a $5 parking donation per vehicle, it’s an easy, all-day celebration that brings together music, community, and a whole lot of red, white, and blue.
