Stefan Gunlock
Collector & Historian
Steve Gunlock is an animated storyteller with an amazing collection of artifacts to enhance his presentations. Select mornings, Steve will lead the guests through drills using his musket collection, bringing history to life with hands-on learning. Note: We do not use bullets for firing sessions at the inn; guests shoot with black powder. Steve is an animated presenter who is usually at the inn on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The North & South
Mike Vice is a retired curator from the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor’s Center. Mike’s presentations focus on his personal connection to his ancestor from Texas who fought on the Confederate side in the Civil War. Mike also offers presentations from the perspective of Union soldiers fighting in the Civil War.
Deb Novotny
Licensed Battlefield Guide
Licensed Battlefield Guide Deb Novotny is a retired American History Teacher from Gettysburg High School. She is an expert on Evergreen Cemetery and the civilians buried there. She has been a Licensed Battlefield Guide since 1975. Deb is frequently at the inn on Thursdays and Sundays.
Ted Hirt
Licensed Town Guide
Ted Hirt is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Adams County Historical Society. Ted also is a re-enactor with Battery B, First Rhode Island Artillery, a unit that fought at Gettysburg. Ted has been interested in the Civil War, and Gettysburg in particular, since his youth in the long-ago 1950’s. He recalls visiting the battlefield during the July 1963 Centennial. He has been a Town Guide since 2018. Ted is frequently at the inn on Thursdays and Sundays.
Brad Gottfried
Licensed Town Guide
A Town Guide since 2018, Brad has written 17 books on the Civil War, including, most recently, “Lincoln’s Visit to Gettysburg and Lee Invades the North: A Comparison of the Antietam and Gettysburg Campaigns.” Brad is frequently at the inn on Thursdays and Sundays.
