Live one of the most significant moments in America’s 250 year story on a large scale in Gettysburg.

The Historic Daniel Lady Farm and the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association invite guests to experience the Civil War Reenactment of the Battle of Gettysburg on its 163rd Anniversary. This event features 1,000 reenactors and tens of thousands of spectators and the opportunity to engage with Living Historians demonstrating various ways that life was lived during the Civil War years.

Gettysburg goes all out for Independence Day, and in 2026, the celebration gets even bigger as the community marks America’s 250th birthday with a full day of energy, live music, and hometown pride at Gettysburg Rec Park.

As the final notes carry into the night, the sky comes alive with an extended fireworks display sponsored by Destination Gettysburg, creating a show that’s as meaningful as it is spectacular. With chairs set up, families gathered, and the community all around, it’s the kind of moment that defines summer in Gettysburg.
