Steeped in history, our Gettysburg, Pennsylvania B&B is a remarkable property that has witnessed and played a role in pivotal moments of American history.
- 1809: Originally built as a single-family fieldstone farmhouse with a wooden summer kitchen and barn.
- 1835: Owned by abolitionists Anna and Cornelius Houghtelin, Vice-President of Gettysburg’s Anti-Slavery Society.
- July 3, 1863: The house became General Wesley Merritt’s Headquarters during the cavalry battle on the South Cavalry Battlefield, coinciding with Pickett’s Charge.
- July 3-4, 1863: The barn served as a Civil War field hospital.
- Mid-20th Century: Located next to President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s neighborhood, near his friend George Allen’s home. President Eisenhower himself walked these grounds.
- 2001: Became the founding location of the Unitarian Universalists of Gettysburg.

Florence March
Florence has been welcoming guests since 1994, combining her love for history, gardening, and music to create a memorable experience for visitors. A founding member of the Unitarian Universalists of Gettysburg, she’s deeply connected to the stories of the people who shaped this historic property.

Debbie March
Debbie is a true Gettysburg native with a rich family history that ties directly to the Battle of Gettysburg. Her Wolff/Wolfe ancestors hosted Union and Confederate soldiers on their farm, now the site of Camp Letterman.
- Has a knack for storytelling, from Pennsylvania Dutch phrases to tales of Henry VIII’s wives.
- Enjoys training her dogs Vince and Sassy and planning unforgettable events like weddings.

Constance Tarbox
Constance returned to the family business in 2017 after two decades of producing theater in New York City. She brings creativity and a passion for connecting with guests to the B&B.
- Grew up helping with breakfasts in Civil War dress and now shares her love for family and art with the next generation.
- Married to Lance Windish, a brilliant performer she met in NYC. Together, they have two children who love helping out at the inn
